This week is the end of the first section of discussions about why a spiritually disciplined life can feel more complicated or difficult than it needs to be, and how to look at the things that are influencing and unnecessarily burdening Christ’s call to take up his yoke over our own.
In the last two weeks, we covered
1) How the speed of our culture creates a sense of time-sickness, where we feel like we’re living in an instant pot with no pressure release in sight.
2) How our primary caregiving relationships and our ongoing reciprocal relationships shape our patterns of attachment and belonging to God in ways that we might be unaware of and that show up well into adulthood.
This week I’d like to walk through a few key points about our expectations of life with God and give you some space to ask and answer questions for yourself and together. I’d love to hear your thoughts as we go through this conversation.
